Ian Donaldson

Ian Donaldson is an experienced professional with a career spanning over three decades in public service and policy development. Currently serving as Deputy Director for Children's Rights, Protection and Justice at The Scottish Government, Ian has held multiple senior roles, including Interim Director for Covid Inquiries and Deputy Director for Organisational Readiness. Previous positions include Board Director and Trustee at Children 1st, Head of Policy at Scottish Forestry, and Chief of Staff for the Scottish National Party at the UK Parliament. Ian's extensive background in international relations is highlighted by a Deputy Permanent Representative role at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Ian holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Imperial College London and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Glasgow.
