John Mouat

John Mouat is an experienced marine biodiversity professional with a strong background in environmental protection and management. Currently serving as the Head of Protected Seas and Species Programme and Marine Biodiversity Team Lead at The Scottish Government since September 2018, John has previously held the position of Deputy Secretary at the OSPAR Commission from October 2011 to September 2018, where responsibilities included supporting various environmental initiatives. Prior experiences also include roles as Project Coordinator at KIMO International and Save the North Sea. John holds an MSc in Environmental Protection and Management and a BSc in Environmental Chemistry, both from The University of Edinburgh.
