The Seeing Eye
Crystal Mencia has extensive experience in education and leadership roles in various organizations. As the Owner of "Life, Love, and Lesson Plans with the Teaching Principal" since 2012, Crystal has been actively involved in educational consulting. Crystal also serves as an Independent Team Beachbody Emerald Coach since 2015, promoting health and fitness. Crystal's volunteer work with The Seeing Eye includes roles such as Town Visit Hostess, Breeding Station Assistant, and Puppy Raiser, earning recognition with The Seeing Eye's Best Friend Award in 2010. Crystal has taught in various capacities, including as a 5th-grade Mathematics Teacher and Special Education Teacher at Paterson Public Schools, and as a Grade 4 Teacher of English Language Learners at Red Clay Consolidated School District. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Special Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor's in Linguistics and Education from Rutgers University.

Seeing Eye® dog users experience greatly enhanced mobility and independence, allowing them to retain their active lifestyles despite blindness. The Seeing Eye is a philanthropy, established in 1929, and is supported exclusively by contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, bequests, and other planned gifts.
