Shawn McCourt

Shawn McCourt is an accomplished curator and botanist with extensive experience in botany, ecology, and horticulture. Currently serving as the Curator of the Living Collection at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens since April 2015, Shawn has previously worked as an independent contractor focusing on landscape design and property services, as well as holding various roles in ecological consultancy and field survey work with organizations such as Fingal County Council and RPS Group. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Botany/Ecology from Trinity College Dublin and a CPD Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Technological University Dublin. Shawn's expertise encompasses habitat mapping, floristic surveys, and ecological reporting, complemented by hands-on experience in plant care and management.
