Kathryn Curry

Kathryn Curry began their career in 2002 as a Child Protective Services Specialist II with the State of Alaska. Kathryn then became an Adult Protective Services Specialist III, a Human Rights Field Representative III, and a Child Protective Services Specialist II. In 2014, they became the Deputy Long Term Care Ombudsman with the Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman, Mental Health Trust Authority. In this role, they acted in the place of the State Long Term Care Ombudsman when necessary, served as an advocate for older Alaskans in long term care facilities, screened complaints, assigned cases for investigation or follow-up, investigated complaints, kept informed about case investigations, developed strong working relationships with partnering agencies, educated the public on the mission of the OLTCO, recruited volunteers, provided referral and statewide resource information relating to elder issues, managed the volunteer program, trained and certified volunteers, supervised volunteers, provided technical assistance, and was responsible for the growth of the program. In 2021, Kathryn Curry began working as a Long Term Care Ombudsman with The Senior Source.

Kathryn Curry obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration (Justice emphasis) from Wayland Baptist University, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Management from the same university.
