Naomi Schimmel

Naomi Schimmel, PhD, has extensive work experience in the field of education. Naomi started their career as a Special Education Teacher at The Churchill School and Center, where they worked with grades 2 and 4 from 2005 to 2010. Naomi then joined Maret School as a Reading/Learning Specialist in 2010 before transitioning to Riverdale Country School in 2011 as a Learning Specialist. In 2015, Naomi joined The Shefa School as a Curriculum Coordinator and later became the Head of Lower School in 2017. Naomi has a strong background in curriculum development and working with students with diverse learning needs.

Naomi Schimmel, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Language, Literacy, and Learning from Fordham University. Prior to earning their PhD, they obtained a Master of Science in Education (MS.Ed.) degree from Hunter College, where they focused on General & Special Education with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities. Naomi also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from The George Washington University.
