Karen Russell

Karen Russell is an experienced professional in the social and community service sectors, currently serving as the National Manager of Early Childhood and Government Programs at The Smith Family since July 2019. With a strong background in program management and organizational leadership, Karen has held various significant roles including Director at the Department of Social Services, where responsibilities included overseeing the transition to the Australian Government's Community Grants Management Hub and leading teams during the implementation of the National Disability Scheme. Prior to this, Karen founded Walk the Walk Consulting, focusing on individual and organizational development. With a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Sydney, Karen has dedicated over three decades to enhancing community services and driving reform within government frameworks.
