While this role will ideally be located in Chicago for hybrid collaboration, we are also open to the possibility of fully remote work.
The Role:
The newest addition to our team is a visionary leader with a demonstrated history of success and a talent for building businesses. This newly created position can be either a Director or VP level, and will be pivotal in spearheading our business development and growth plans to support our global team.
Our ideal candidate will have a robust background in developing strategic sales initiatives to maximize lead generation and revenue growth in Market Research and Brand Consulting. They should not only be aggressive in pursuing sales targets but also innovative in approach, using advanced technology tools and methodologies to lead the market.

Created and implemented a thorough sales and marketing strategic process that drove company revenue through identifying and penetrating new market segments in the US, UK and/or Canada.
Oversaw and led revenue generation team in developing and completing outbound prospecting campaigns where needed.
Cultivated relationships with key contacts from a list of targeted prospects.
Monitored market trends and technological developments in digital tech to stay ahead of the competition and adapted strategies as necessary.
Utilized analytics and digital tools (e.g. Hubspot, Sales Navigator, etc.) to maintain sales pipeline, generate leads, enhance customer engagement, and optimize marketing campaigns.
Prepared and able to speak through detailed reports on points of differentiation in the competitive landscape, sales performance, market analysis, and growth opportunities to the leadership team.
Engaged in customer and partner-facing situations and market events as a product expert.
Provided ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities to team members to help them achieve their potential and advance their careers.
MUST haves…
10+ years’ experience in selling multi-method Market Research Solutions, including qualitative, quantitative, and advanced analytics methodologies, to a range of buyers across categories, such as CPG, tech, lifestyle, retail, travel and leisure, etc.
Industry experience in Market Research, Brand Management or Product innovation
5-10 years of demonstrated successful direct-selling experience with >$1MM++ annual new business/new logo quota attainment
Current client networking relationships of relevant contacts/”book of business”.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive and mentor cross-functional teams without having official authority
Excellent written and oral communication abilities with agility to adjust communication approach for diverse audiences, specifically executive level
Successful presentation skills to navigate and influence various customer interactions, whether in person or virtual (GMeet, Teams, Zoom, etc)
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive culture where all employees feel valued and respected, and where their differences are seen as strengths that contribute to the success of the organization.
Working at The Sound
This position comes with a competitive base salary of $150,000 - $200,000 (dependent on experience) with target OTE potential over $250k which includes base comp and incentive bonus potential. This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed above. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.
