Chris Soprych has an extensive work experience in the field of design, particularly in the news industry. Starting in 1995, Chris worked as a Graphic Artist at the Seattle Times for over a year. In 1998, they moved on to the Chicago Tribune, where they served as an Informational Graphic Artist, responsible for designing and rendering informational graphics for daily publications and project series.
In 2005, Chris joined the Rockford Register Star as the AME for Design, Multimedia, and Marketing. During their tenure, they managed a team of four graphic artists/journalists and was responsible for generating ideas for graphic news coverage and internal marketing campaigns. Chris'swork included design for print, online, and video/audio production, including TV commercials and an online prep sports show called Gridiron.
After working at the Rockford Register Star for seven years, Chris moved on to GateHouse Media in 2012, where they held the position of Designer/Copy Editor. During their time there, they served in a dual role for design and copy editing until April 2013.
From April 2013 to August 2016, Chris worked as a Designer at the Orange County Register before joining The Spokesman-Review in September 2016 as the Design Director. Currently, they hold this position, overseeing the design aspect of the organization.
