Annie Byrne is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in urban planning and economic development. Currently serving as the Senior Project Manager for Planning and Economic Development at the City of Saint Paul since May 2021, Byrne oversees critical projects that enhance community growth. Previously, Byrne founded and led BFF Bikes LLC, a women-specific bike shop aimed at creating an inclusive space for women in cycling from January 2014 to November 2020. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Planner at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, where Byrne specialized in economic development policy and workforce innovation, and as an Associate Planner and Assistant Planner, focusing on comprehensive planning and development strategies. Byrne began a career in economic development as a Research Assistant at Chicago Community Ventures. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College.
