Dan Niziolek has extensive experience in municipal management, currently serving as the Deputy Director for the Department of Safety and Inspections at the City of Saint Paul since March 2014, overseeing a large department with 8 divisions, 148 FTEs, and an $18 million budget. Prior to this role, Dan held various positions at the City of Minneapolis from 2000 to 2014, including Deputy Director of Regulatory Services, where responsibilities encompassed department operations, managing significant teams, and enforcing housing codes. Dan's leadership experience also includes serving as a 10th Ward City Council Member, managing the city's numerous departments and a substantial budget, and initiating the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design program. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and completed master’s coursework at the same institution.
