David Blomquist

Vice President, Strategic Development at NJ Advance Media

David Blomquist has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media industry. David started their career at CBS Inc. in 1982 as a Supervising Section Editor. David then moved on to the Bergen Record, where they served as Public Affairs Editor from 1995 to 1997 and later became the Director of Online Development from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, they joined the Detroit Free Press as the Director of New Media/Senior Editor. From 2006 to 2009, they worked as the Editor-in-Chief of NJ.com. David then joined Penn Jersey Advance, where they held various roles including Online Editorial Director from 2009 to 2011, Strategic Planning from 2011 to 2013, and Vice President of Strategic Development since 2013. Currently, they are the Editor and Publisher of The Jersey Journal, overseeing the daily newspaper of Hudson County, N.J.

David Blomquist attended Harvard University from 1976 to 1982, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Government. Prior to Harvard, they studied at the University of Michigan from 1973 to 1976 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political science and journalism.
