Shakyra Mabone is a dedicated video producer at The State News since August 2024, with a strong background in journalism accumulated through various roles from September 2021 to May 2024, including pop culture reporter, student affairs reporter, general assignment reporter, copyeditor, and podcast editor. Shakyra has been instrumental in producing content for the newsroom website, ensuring hosts are informed of recording dates, and handling audio and transcript editing. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at Michigan State University, Shakyra previously earned a diploma in general education from River Rouge High School.
