Tony Defranco

Tony DeFranco has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Tony is currently the Director of Operations at The State University of New York (SUNY) OER Services since June 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Director of User Support Services at SUNY OER Services from October 2018 to May 2021, where they led technology-based project management and marketing initiatives.

Before joining SUNY OER Services, Tony worked at Tompkins Cortland Community College, where they served as the Director of Technology Support from February 2018 to October 2018, and as the Coordinator of Learning Technology Services from August 2006 to February 2018. In these roles, they provided leadership in navigating campus-wide technology projects, developed online learning and instructional design, and implemented user-friendly policies and procedures.

Tony's earlier experience includes working as an Operations Manager at Citadel Communications from March 1999 to January 2006, and as a Sales Representative at Wireless Works, Inc. from February 1992 to October 1993.

Overall, Tony DeFranco has a strong background in technology management, project coordination, and instructional design, with experience in both higher education and corporate environments.

Tony DeFranco has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Design and Technology from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Tony also holds an MBA degree in Business Administration from Empire State University, a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business, Management and Economics from SUNY Empire State College, and an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Business Administration from SUNY Canton. In addition to their academic qualifications, Tony has obtained certifications such as SUNY Online Summit and Open SUNY Online Teaching Community Leader from The State University of New York.
