Sarah Horen

Sarah Horen has extensive work experience in risk and safety management. Sarah has served as the Director of Risk and Safety at Steamboat Resort and the Director of Health and Safety at Snowbasin Resort. Sarah also has experience in environmental engineering as a Managing Member at LockCycle, where they co-founded and led the development of bicycle locking devices and stations. Furthermore, they have worked as a Health and Safety Engineer at Handy LLC, handling OSHA compliance and construction project management. Additionally, Sarah has worked as a Senior Investigator at Accurate Investigation Services and as a Ski Instructor at Vail Resorts. Sarah has also contributed to the field of nanotechnology as an instructor at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Earlier in their career, Sarah held various roles as a student ambassador, personal trainer, peer advisor, and peer mentor at Colorado School of Mines. Sarah also gained experience in the petroleum industry through a field camp at Schlumberger.

Sarah Horen attended Fruita Monument High School from 2008 to 2012 and obtained a High School Diploma. Sarah then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines from 2012 to 2016. Following that, they enrolled at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from 2017 to 2018. Alongside their education, Sarah obtained additional certifications including 40 Hour Hazwoper Training from 360training in June 2020 and Level I: Professional Ski Instructor from PSIA - AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America - American Association of Snowboard Instructors in December 2016. Sarah also holds the EI certification from NCEES and the Lead Hazard Reduction Contractor certification from HAZWOPER OSHA Training, LLC.
