Matt Baker

Matt Baker is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community-led creative initiatives and the cultural sector in Scotland. As the Chief Executive Officer of The Stove Network since 2011, Baker has played a key role in enhancing public life through creative placemaking. Baker also operates an art studio established in 1993, contributing as an artist. Additional leadership roles include serving as Vice Chair of the National Partnership for Culture from 2020 to 2023 and Strategic Director for the Midsteeple Quarter regeneration project in Dumfries from 2018 to 2021. Baker's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Sheffield. Further academic experience includes affiliation as a Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow from 2012 to 2019.
