Lane DeVries

Lane DeVries grew up in Holland and is a fourth-generation flower farmer. Lane made his way to the United States in 1983 where he started to work at a small flower farm in Oregon. Lane moved to Arcata, California in 1984 and established the first-ever year-round tulip and lily Dutch glass greenhouse in Humboldt county. During this time Lane rose through the ranks, from greenhouse manager to general manager. In the early 1990s, with two partners he purchased the Arcata farm and established Sun Valley Floral Farms. They added the first farm in Willow Creek in 1999 and in 2001 they continued to expand farm operations to Oxnard, California, and St. Catharines, Ontario. Today, Lane continues to stay true to his farmer roots and he still walks the greenhouses often inspecting the renowned lilies, tulips, and Iris. Lane continues to lead the team with passion, optimism, and positivity.
