Herbert van der Strate

Herbert van der Strate has a comprehensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Herbert is currently the CEO of The Surgical Company PTM since May 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Operating Officer of The Surgical Company Group from September 2018 to May 2022. Herbert also worked as an Accredited Executive Associate at IIB, an international body and global network supporting small and medium enterprises, from April 2018 to September 2020.

Before that, Herbert was the CEO of Voelker, where they successfully led a project to sell the company and developed business and strategic plans. Herbert was responsible for the carve-out, R&D strategy, restructuring, key account management, setting up sales organizations, and distributor networks from September 2016 to March 2018.

Herbert's previous roles include being the VP Business Operations Europe and Interim General Manager DACH at Hill-Rom, where they also served as the VP Supply Chain International and Interim SVP Global Supply Chain. Herbert was responsible for leading the Global Supply Chain organization, managing manufacturing sites, sourcing, logistics, and continuous improvement from February 2013 to August 2016.

Herbert also held the position of DVP QA EU-region at Abbott EPD from November 2010 to March 2013. Earlier in their career, Herbert served as the EVP Compliance & Risk Management at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, responsible for global quality assurance, risk management, and compliance.

Herbert's work experience also includes serving as the Site Director at Philips-Duphar, Duphar, Solvay-Duphar, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, and Abbott Healthcare Products, where they managed the site operations from January 2002 to March 2007. Herbert was also the Head of the Technology Department at Solvay from 1997 to 2001 and the Technical Managing Director at Smit Ovens from 1996 to 1998, overseeing projects in various countries.

Overall, Herbert van der Strate has a diverse work experience with a focus on leadership, operations, supply chain management, and business strategy in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.

Herbert van der Strate earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance&Control from Twente business school in 2007-2008. Herbert then obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente from 1983-1989. In 2018, they attended Governance university Doorn for a course in Effective commissaris and IIB Business School for an Accredited Executive Associate program. Additionally, in 2005-2006, they completed an ePDA - MBA program at IMD.
