Gil Hanna

Gil Hanna has a comprehensive work experience in the field of network engineering and sales engineering. Gil is currently serving as the Vice President of Network Engineering at The Switch since September 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Sales Engineering at The Switch from April 2018 to September 2020.

Before joining The Switch, Gil had an extensive career journey. Gil founded Near Field Communications, Inc. in 2003 and served as the CEO/President until July 2013. The company specialized in systems integration, engineering design, consulting, equipment sales, and installation for the broadcast, satellite, and telecommunications markets.

Gil also worked as the Director of Engineering, Technology Development/Sales Support at GlobeCast America from January 2002 to August 2007. Before that, they served as the Director, Satellite Systems Integration at AZCAR USA, Inc. from October 2000 to December 2001.

Prior to their roles at AZCAR USA, Inc., Gil served as the Director, Satellite Systems Integration at Synergistic Technologies, Inc. from January 1993 to October 2000. At Synergistic Technologies, they managed satellite communications requirements, operated flyaway earth station systems, and oversaw the European gateway and over 100 downlink sites for the Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

Early in their career, Gil served as the Engineering Manager at IDB Communications, Inc. from 1987 to 1991, and as a Transportable Earth Station Technician at both NETCOM, Inc. from 1984 to 1987 and Wold Communications, Inc. from 1982 to 1984.
