Catherine Morrissette is a Publicity Assistant at Penguin Random House, contributing to the Portfolio, Sentinel, Thesis, and Optimism imprints since August 2024. As an author, Catherine published a collection of 12 short stories as part of the Telling Room’s Young Emerging Authors Fellowship and has also served on the selection panel for the fellowship. Previous experience includes a Policy Fellow position at Battelle, where Catherine attended congressional hearings, wrote summaries, researched legislative initiatives, and coordinated an educational event. An internship at MEMIC involved creating a marketing campaign and representing the organization at a national event, while a Constituent Services Intern role in the United States Senate provided experience in constituent communication and office organization. Additionally, a summer sailing instructor position at SailMaine involved planning lessons for children and ensuring safety protocols. Catherine holds a Bachelor's degree in English and political science from Brown University and completed the Columbia Publishing Course at Columbia University in July 2024.
