George Vasiliou

Corporate VP of Strategic Initiatives at The TemPositions Group of Companies

George Vasiliou joined the company during the fall of 2013. Prior to this, he worked for over eight years at the NYC Department of Education, where most recently he was the Executive Director for the Division of Financial Operations, charged with the planning, management, accountability and reporting of all fiscal transactions of the DOE’s $19 Billion annual expense budget. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the DOE. Starting out at the DOE, he worked in the Department of Human Resources and Talent where he rose to the level of Chief of Staff to the CEO after serving as Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations, a Business Process Analyst on the development and implementation of the DOE’s Human Resources Call Center, and Program Manager of the AmeriCorps Program for the DOE. He moved to NY from Florida where he worked to establish the five year strategic plan for 211 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc., a large human services information telephone center. While there, he also led all youth volunteerism and Service Learning Initiatives for Pinellas County, Florida. George received a BA in Political Philosophy and Russian Literature from Florida State University.
