Yuriko Schumacher is an experienced designer and developer currently working at The Texas Tribune since August 2022. Prior to this role, Yuriko interned in graphics at The Wall Street Journal and served as a data reporting intern and data-visual intern at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. With a strong background in news translation, Yuriko worked at Creative Link Corporation translating news articles and infographics from English to Japanese and at Daily World Press Inc as Editor in Chief, where significant cost reductions were achieved. Additionally, Yuriko held editorial positions at Asahi Shimbun, contributing to notable articles and receiving national recognition for outstanding journalism. Yuriko holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from Northeastern University, a Bachelor of Laws in International Public Policy from Osaka University, and has participated in an exchange program at The University of Georgia.
