TLC - The Treatment and Learning Centers

TLC's mission is to improve lives and expand possibilities for individuals with special needs through diagnostic, therapeutic, educational and employment programs. Today, TLC serves more than 2,200 individuals in our community each year through the following programs: • The Katherine Thomas School— Private day school for students in pre-school through 12th grade with language and learning disabilities and/or high functioning autism. • Testing and Tutoring Service — Psychological and educational testing, tutoring, and counseling for students with learning and emotional difficulties. • Outcomes Service — Career assessments, employee development services, community employment services, transitioning youth services for individuals with developmental disabilities. • Outpatient Services —Speech and occupational therapy for children with a wide range of special needs including autism spectrum disorders. • The Family Hearing Center— Audiology clinic providing hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings and related counseling for the entire family. The Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredits TLC’s Outcomes Service, and TLC’s Katherine Thomas School is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education.
