Matt Posky ran the popular slice-of-life blog You Monsters Are People and had a bizarre humor column in Penthouse Magazine. As a toddler, he converted dozens of cardboard boxes into imaginary automobiles. As a rowdy teen, he intentionally wrecked a junked Chevrolet Beretta in a dirt parking lot to settle a bet and attempted to convert a Plymouth Voyager Turbo into a front-wheel drag car during the Great Recession. Having worked in corporate media and public relations for automotive clients, he was made gently bitter by all the glossy falseness in advertising — and eventually abandoned that scene to write full-time. He’s driven more rental cars in more states than any human should ever have to and owned as many motorcycles as he has automobiles.
