Penny Christiaans

Community Capacity Development Coordinator at The United Church of Canada

Penny Christiaans is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in community development and health promotion, particularly within Aboriginal communities across Canada. Since January 2011, Penny has served as the Community Capacity Development Coordinator for The United Church of Canada, focusing on the advancement of Urban and Reserve Aboriginal communities. Prior to this role, Penny worked at the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health as a Programs Coordinator/Manager from September 2007 to August 2010, where programs such as the Aboriginal Diabetes Program and various health initiatives were organized and evaluated. Additionally, from January 2002 to April 2007, Penny operated as a Trauma and Addictions Counsellor/Energy Therapist at Healing The Spirit, creating a unique healing module. Education includes a degree in Trauma & Addictions Recovery from Algonquin College and a business degree from St. Elizabeth Private College.
