John Phipps

John Phipps is currently the Director at The United States Information Technology Office. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of International Government Relations at S&P Global from August 2015 to April 2016. John also worked as the Senior Vice President at Samuels International Associates from January 2015 to July 2015. In addition, they served as the Senior Vice President and Head of Washington, DC office at Alpaytac Public Relations & Marketing Communications from May 2014 to December 2014. Before that, they were the Senior Director of Global Government Relations at Visa from July 2010 to December 2013.

John has extensive experience in government relations and has helped transform a fledgling international government relations program into a coordinated and effective global advocacy team influencing legislation, policies and regulations in more than 40 countries. John has also led the development and coordinated implementation of VISA’s global government relations strategy. In addition, they have worked with business units and senior management to develop positions on priority international issues; and built coalitions supporting the growth of electronic payments in key markets.

John Phipps has an MBA in finance from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School, a Bachelor of Arts in international affairs from the University of Colorado Boulder, and post-graduate studies in international commerce and policy from George Mason University. John also has a certificate in VISA management leadership from INSEAD.
