Leigh Remy

Leigh Remy is the current Academic Success Advocacy Program Director at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Leigh has been working in the field of education for over 20 years and has held various positions at both the collegiate and university level.

Leigh started their career in 1999 as the Director of Judicial Affairs at Dartmouth College where they were responsible for promoting and upholding academic integrity and community standards. In this role, Leigh managed temporary and permanent dismissals for academic performance, academic integrity hearings, appeals of Registrar’s decisions, sexual misconduct and harassment investigations involving graduate and undergraduate students, and responses to all other undergraduate misconduct.

In 2016, Leigh transitioned to Florida Atlantic University where they served as the Director of the Office of Academic Success Initiatives. In this role, Leigh was responsible for the assessment of undergraduate education and academic support programs. Leigh worked with partners across the university to incubate new initiatives including the migration to a required first-year experience course required of all new students; first-year interest groups to introduce faculty, develop community, and engage students in contemporary issues and research within their colleges; and the use of a predictive analytics platform and behavioral nudge campaigns.

Leigh’s experience in both academia and administration makes their uniquely qualified for their current role as the Academic Success Advocacy Program Director at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. In this role, Leigh is responsible for leading and coordinating advocacy efforts aimed at improving access, equity, and success for all students enrolled at UAH.

Leigh Remy holds a BA in English/Journalism from the University of Delaware and an MA in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland.

Leigh Remy works with Janet Waller - Registrar, Valerie Johnson - Student Success Center Director, and Kelly Cothran - Disability Support Services Director. Leigh Remy reports to Rhonda Gaede, Interim Associate Provost.
