Shelby McDaniel

Shelby McDaniel is currently a data analyst at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Previously, they were the alumni relations & events manager at Florida State University College of Medicine from June 2019 to April 2021. In this role, they co-supervised Union Productions, a student organization that served the campus with cultural, educational, and social programming to drive student engagement and involvement. Shelby also coordinated Seminole Sensation Week, a 10-day welcome program serving 40,000 students. Shelby has experience working with the Division of Student Affairs Marketing to plan and approve all marketing materials for events. Shelby has also reviewed contracts for vendors and entertainers for various sized events. Shelby has managed events with attendances ranging from 50 to 2,000 patrons in a variety of venues on and off campus. Shelby has also completed an assessment report for Seminole Sensation Week based on the quantitative data gathered from attendees through in person and electronic survey completion. Shelby has overseen the implementation and advertisement of summer programming coordinated by Union Productions and campus partners.

Shelby McDaniel has a Master of Science in Higher Education from Florida State University College of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

They are on a team with Maggie Allen - Senior Coordinator Development Relations, Lisa Bevis - Gift Accounting Manager, and Katie Thurston - Prospect Management Officer. Shelby McDaniel reports to Marcie Eppling, Senior Director, Advancement Services.
