Dana Keith

Senior Vice Chancellor, Finance & Administration at The University of Alabama System

Dr. Dana S. Keith (Ph.D., CPA) is Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration for The University of Alabama System.

Prior to joining The University of Alabama as Associate Vice President for Financial Affairs in 2004, she was with The University of Southern Mississippi for 12 years, serving in a variety of audit, budgeting, and administrative positions. Her career also includes health-care experience and work as a senior auditor with Ernst & Young. Dana earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from UA, her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Southern Mississippi, and a B.S. degree in Medical Technology from Mississippi State University. She holds a CPA certification and is completing a successful term as vice chair of the Research and Doctoral Committee for the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO).

The Financial Affairs office is responsible for managing system wide investment activities including the pooled endowment fund, the long term reserve pool, and the short term liquidity pool. Other areas of responsibility include physical property and construction oversight and a liaison between the campuses and the Board.
