Nicole Ruggiano is currently a Professor of Social Work and Associate Dean of Research at The University of Alabama, a position held since August 2016, while also serving as an Associate Affiliate Professor in the Division of Neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since September 2018. Previous roles include Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Social Work at Florida International University from August 2009 to August 2016, and APSA Health and Aging Policy Congressional Fellow with the American Political Science Association from September 2018 to October 2019, funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation. Nicole Ruggiano was also recognized as a Geriatric Social Work Scholar by The John A. Hartford Foundation from September 2011 to September 2013. Educational credentials include a PhD in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware, an MSW in Social Work from Temple University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Delaware.
