Paul Barrett

Paul Barrett is an experienced curator and art consultant with a diverse background in the arts sector. Currently, Barrett serves as an independent curator, guest curator for the Shelby County Arts Council, and guest curator at The University of Alabama, having organized notable exhibitions that highlight significant contributions to storytelling and civil rights. Previous roles include co-founding and managing Fill In the Blank, which supports Alabama artists, and acting as founding director and curator for Stephen Smith Fine Art, focusing on socially engaged contemporary art. Barrett also coordinated Alabama's involvement in the For Freedoms initiative, ensuring participation from multiple regional institutions, and has held managerial positions in sales and marketing at LG Electronics. Education was completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Montevallo.
