Karen Habercoss has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Karen began their career at the University of Chicago Medicine in 1997 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Karen then transitioned into roles related to compliance and quality, working as a Corporate Compliance and Quality Officer at PRS, LLC from 2010 to 2015. In 2015, they joined the Joint Commission as a Program Manager-Compliance. Since 2016, they have returned to UChicago Medicine, holding various positions in the privacy sector. Karen started as a Privacy Program Manager in 2016, became an Associate Privacy Officer from 2017 to 2019, and served as the Deputy Privacy Officer from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Privacy Officer, which they started in March 2021.
