Associate Professor Of Molecular Genetics And Cell Biology at The University of Chicago

Laurens Mets serves as an Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology at The University of Chicago since 1981, where also acts as Master and Associate Master of the Biological Sciences Collegiate Division. In addition, Laurens is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Electrochaea GmbH, which focuses on the commercialization of biomethanation technology to convert carbon dioxide into renewable natural gas. Prior experience includes an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biology at Case Western Reserve University from 1975 to 1981. Laurens Mets holds a BA in Biological Chemistry from Pomona College and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Harvard University, following research at the National Institutes of Health.
