Sherri Furman

Sherri Furman has a comprehensive work experience in finance and operations. Sherri currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations at the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, where they are responsible for evolving the finance function to become a data-driven, forward-looking partner that supports the organization's strategic goals. Prior to this role, Sherri served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at the University of Iowa Center for Advancement for 11 years, overseeing finance and accounting functions and ensuring financial stewardship. Sherri also held the position of Assistant Vice President and Controller at the same organization, where they managed accounting, financial, and investment functions. Earlier in their career, Sherri worked as a Payroll Department Senior Accountant at the University of Iowa, as well as held roles in accounting and personnel administration at Iowa Glass Corporation and Post Kirby Noonan & Sweat respectively.

Sherri Furman obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa in 1994. In 1996, they became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) after obtaining certification from the State of Iowa. Later in their career, in 2009, they completed the Community Leadership Program offered by the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce. Sherri further enhanced their professional qualifications in 2012 by obtaining the Chartered Global Management Accountant certification from the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
