Leslie Armell

Executive Officer For Principal Gifts at The University of New Mexico

Leslie Armell has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and organizations. Leslie began their career as an Assistant Publicist at M.L. Falcone Public Relations from July 2001 to November 2003. Leslie then worked as a Managing Director at Cayuga Chamber Orchestra from September 2004 to August 2005, where they successfully managed the organization and achieved fiscal solvency.

Armell then joined the California Museum as an Associate Director of Development from October 2006 to December 2010. In this role, they managed four California Hall of Fame annual galas and raised $3.5 million for the museum.

Starting in August 2014, Armell took on the role of Community Relations Coalition Intern Coordinator at Michigan State University. Leslie supervised 20 off-campus undergraduate students, guiding their efforts in improving relations between permanent and student residents.

From September 2016 to August 2019, Armell worked at the University of New Mexico as a Senior Student Program Advisor and later as a Supervisor of Student Success. Leslie managed three programs that provided comprehensive support to first-year students, helping them transition to college and enroll for their sophomore year.

Armell then returned to the University of New Mexico Foundation, Inc. in September 2019 as the Director of Development for the School of Engineering. Leslie recently transitioned to the role of Executive Officer for Principal Gift Operations in February 2022.
