Lisa Mitchell is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in higher education and K-12 settings. Currently serving as the Associate Dean and Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke since August 2009, Lisa has held various leadership roles including Interim Associate Dean, Interim Dean, and Graduate Program Director for MAEd in Elementary Education. As a Department Chair, Lisa has a strong focus on curriculum development and instructional technology within teacher education programs. Prior to this role, Lisa served as a Visiting Lecturer in Art Education at Appalachian State University and spent 14 years teaching in the Public Schools of North Carolina. Lisa holds a PhD in Curriculum and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Belmont Abbey College, and a BA in Art Education from Lenoir-Rhyne University.
