Alan Hockings has extensive experience in IT management, currently serving as Manager of IT Support at The University of Queensland since July 2001, responsible for overseeing the service desk functions across multiple research institutes. Alan began the career as a Systems Administrator and advanced to Senior Systems Engineer within the university's Information Technology Services. Additionally, Alan owned BetterBackup, providing data recovery solutions to businesses. Alan's educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Mining Geology and Industrial and Scientific Programming, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology, complemented by a Certificate in Training and Assessment.
