Jagadish Thaker

Jagadish Thaker serves as a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland since February 2023, following a tenure in the same position at The University of Auckland from November 2021 to March 2023. Thaker's research initiatives include significant projects such as "Climate fiction as environmental communication," funded by Poland's National Science Centre, and various studies on climate change and media coverage. Recognized with awards like the 2022 Top Faculty Paper in Environmental Communication from the International Communication Association and the 2020 Golden Anniversary Monograph Award from the National Communication Association, Thaker has also contributed as a lecturer and content specialist at numerous institutions. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Mass Communication/Media Studies from George Mason University, complemented by a postdoctoral fellowship at the National University of Singapore focused on grassroots advocacy campaigns.
