Jake Carroll

Jake Carroll has a diverse work experience in various technology-related roles. Jake started their career as an Assistant Systems Programmer for ITS at the University of Queensland in 2004. Jake then worked as a Senior Technology Officer at the Queensland Brain Institute and also took on a role as a Specialist Technical Research Journalist at Haymarket Publishing from 2006 to 2012. In 2009, they became a Senior Information Technology Manager at the University of Queensland, where they stayed until 2018. During this time, they also served as an Associate Director of Research Computing for several institutes. In 2018, they became a Foundation Board Member for Brisbane AI and later joined Airus as a Director of Technology in 2020. Since 2019, they have held the position of Chief Technology Officer for the University of Queensland's Research Computing Centre, and they are currently serving as the Director of the University of Queensland Research Computing Centre. Outside of their professional roles, Jake was also an Independent Consultant in 2010.

Jake Carroll earned a Masters of Business Administration degree in Business Administration and Management from The University of Queensland, where they studied from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Hons. Comp.Sci degree in Computer Science at Southern Cross University from 2003 to 2004. Jake also obtained a B.InfoTech degree in Information Technology from the same university from 2000 to 2003. In 1999 and 2000, Jake Carroll attended Evans River and earned their HSC degree. In addition to their formal education, Jake Carroll obtained certifications such as the Connected CIO Executive Program from Dell Technologies and the 2019 IBM Systems Technical University Speaker certification from IBM.
