Kelly Matthews is a Professor of Higher Education at The University of Queensland, where responsibilities include leading a multi-institutional project to shape AI policy through student voice and co-developing a program aimed at achieving gender parity among the professoriate. Previously, as Interim Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching & Learning), Kelly provided senior academic leadership in innovative teaching strategies and policy development. As a founding editor of the International Journal for Students as Partners, Kelly has facilitated over 200 publications and enhanced global diversity within the editorial board. Previous roles at The University of Queensland included Associate Professor and strategic leadership in curriculum development. Kelly has also served as Vice President of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, focusing on strengthening international collaboration and elevating student partnership. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Higher Education from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Arts with a Graduate Certification in Teaching from the University of New Orleans.
