Edward Sayre is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in higher education, currently serving as a Professor and Executive Associate Dean for Faculty and Operations in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Southern Mississippi since August 2007. In various leadership roles, including Professor and Director of the School of Social Science and Global Studies, and Chair of the Department of Political Science, International Development, and International Affairs, Edward Sayre has managed educational policies and institutional implementation within these departments. Prior to this, Edward Sayre held positions such as Hubert Humphrey Distinguished Visiting Professor of Economics at Macalester College and Senior Fellow at Fikra Research and Policy, where notable contributions included leading a Qatarization project. Edward Sayre's academic journey began with a PhD in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin, complemented by significant teaching and research endeavors focused on the Economics of the Middle East.
