Michael King

Michael King, PhD, serves as the Assistant Vice President of Student Learning and Strategic Initiatives at The University of Southern Mississippi since August 2008, focusing on cultivating empowered learning environments and experiential learning opportunities. Previous roles include Executive Director of Organizational and Student Learning, where oversight of assessment and strategic planning was key, and instructional positions as a Speech Communication Instructor at both Winona State University and South Dakota State University. Michael King has also demonstrated leadership as President of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, while maintaining a business background as the owner of PowerHouse Dance DJs. Academic credentials include a PhD in Communication Studies from The University of Southern Mississippi, alongside a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Political Science from South Dakota State University.
