Andrew Tyler is a distinguished academic and researcher serving as the Scotland Hydro Nation Chair at the University of Stirling since January 1994, focusing on research and innovation in the Scottish water sector to achieve net zero goals. Additionally, Andrew occupies the positions of Professor of Environmental Science and Deputy Dean and Associate Dean for Research in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, driving research and innovation strategy. Previously, Andrew led the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, fostering excellence in both research and teaching. Since March 2021, Andrew has been recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Andrew's education includes a PhD in Environmental Gamma Ray Spectrometry from the University of Glasgow, an MSc in Remote Sensing and Digital Image Processing from the University of Dundee, and a BSc (Honours) in Geological Sciences from Aston University.
