Irene J Hillman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in career services, talent acquisition, and HR management. Irene J started their career as a Talent Acquisition and HR Manager at Ardent Financial, where they developed interview training programs and managed contracts with staffing agencies and job board sites. Irene then worked at SDL International as a Recruitment Consultant, where they conducted global interviews and maintained recruitment metrics. Irene J also worked as a Contract Recruiter at Larsen Globalization, handling applicant profiles, job placements, and database management. Irene later became the Director of Career Services at Westwood College, leading a team to achieve employment goals and collaborating with other departments to improve educational outcomes. Irene J then transitioned to a role as the Career Development Manager at Rollins College of Business, where they advised students on career planning, resume reviews, and interview analysis. Currently, Irene is the Director of Student Success for the College of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In this role, they partner with students, colleagues, and community leaders to enhance academic, professional, and career development opportunities. Irene J also builds relationships with community and business partners to enrich students' experiences and contribute to the region's workforce. Irene has also served as Co-Chair for the Career Services Leadership for the Future Task Force at the National Association of Colleges and Employers, focusing on preparing career services professionals for success in a complex market.

Irene J Hillman is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Learning and Leadership at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Irene J previously obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2003. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at New College of Florida, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology/Urban Studies in 1999.

In addition to their degrees, Irene has obtained two certifications: an Executive Education Certification from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2019 and a Myers Briggs Certified Practitioner certification from The Myers-Briggs Company in 2018.
