Jill Maples is the Director of Women's Health Research at The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. With a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioenergetics from East Carolina University, a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from The University of Tennessee, and a Bachelor’s Degree in the same field from The University of Tennessee, Jill has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at both The University of Tennessee and Western Kentucky University.

The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine (UTGSM) in Knoxville, a part of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, offers exceptional training in graduate medical and dental education. Beginning as the "Internship Program" in 1956 with the opening of the UT Memorial Research Center and Hospital, the graduate medical and dental educational and research programs in Knoxville formally became the UTGSM with the formation of the University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) in 1991.
