Sheila Melander

Sheila Melander is a seasoned professional in the field of nursing academia and acute care, currently serving as a Professor in the DNP Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Kentucky since July 2014. Simultaneously, Sheila holds a position as a Full Professor at the University of Tennessee, where responsibilities include course development and clinical supervision within the Doctorate of Nursing Practice Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. Sheila has extensive clinical experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, providing cardiology care at Cardiology Care in Pasadena, CA since February 2011 and previously at Fallon Cardiology from 2009 to 2011. Educational achievements include a Doctorate of Science in Acute Care Cardiology from the University of Alabama Birmingham and an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Degree with a cardiology specialty from Vanderbilt University. Sheila also contributed significantly to nursing education as a Full Professor at the University of Southern Indiana, where the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program was established and maintained a 100% pass rate.
