Patrick Benfield

Patrick Benfield is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in innovation and maker education. Currently serving as the Director of Innovation at The Magellan International School since July 2017, Patrick created and implemented a K-12 innovation program rooted in constructionism within an IB framework. Additional roles include Lead Mentor for the UTeach Maker Fellowship Program at The University of Texas at Austin, co-founding the nonprofit co.lab // Community Makers, and serving as Senior EdExchange Fellow at Thinkery. Patrick has also contributed as a Community Organizer with Austin Maker Educators and held teaching and leadership positions at St. Gabriel's Catholic School and Round Rock ISD, focusing on STEAM and gifted education. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Texas State University and completed coding education at Austin Coding Academy.
