Robert Newberry

Assistant Professor Of Chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin

Robert Newberry is currently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin, since January 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCSF from July 2016 to January 2022, where work focused on developing chemical genetics technology and identifying a toxic conformation of alpha-synuclein. Academic contributions also encompass a Graduate Research Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where Robert evaluated protein interactions and stability while mentoring undergraduate students. Additional roles included teaching and seminar instruction in biochemistry, and research internships at the Broad Institute and the University of Texas at Austin, where Robert explored various biochemical phenomena and mentored aspiring researchers.
