The University of Texas at San Antonio's leadership team has a long history of public service and education. Pete P. Gallego, the current General Counsel, previously served as Operations Specialist at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital and as Chairman at the Tri-County Homeland Security Council. He alsocoordinated the St. Mary's County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). Andrew Bentz Whaley, the current Vice President, has also served as Director of Development at Western Kentucky University and Assistant to the President for Corporate and Foundation Relations at Lindsey Wilson College. Dr. Michelle Bartolo, the current Associate to the President for Diversity, has also served as Professor of Education Technology at Metropolitan State University of Denver and Associate Chair of the Department of Teacher Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver. finally, Dr. Richard Miller, the current Interim Vice President for Research, has also served as Senior Vice President for Research at Texas Tech University and Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement at University of Tennessee.
