Victoria Cantu

Victoria Cantu serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Managing Counsel for Health Law at The University of Texas System since April 2024, leveraging extensive legal expertise. Previously, Victoria held key legal positions at Abbott from January 2017 to March 2024, including Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel, where responsibilities encompassed managing legal matters for Electrophysiology and Heart Failure business units. Prior experience includes Senior Counsel roles at St. Jude Medical and managing litigation at McKool Smith, along with associate positions at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP. Victoria began a legal career with a clerkship at the Southern District of Texas and served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from The University of Houston.
